A barrel is the most efficient sauna shape. There are no corners for cold air to collect in, and the curved walls push the heat back down to the benches.
Ours are built from thick Western Red Cedar staves pulled tight with steel bands, with a cedar or full-glass front and an optional round rear window. Choose a wood stove for the traditional experience, or an electric heater that is ready in about 40 minutes.
It is also the sauna we rent, so you can have one in your yard for a weekend before you decide.

The details that make a barrel last
- 01Thick staves, tight bands. Full-length cedar staves pulled tight with steel bands that can be re-tightened as the wood settles.
- 02Off the ground. Cedar cradles lift the barrel above melting snow so the bottom staves stay dry.
- 03Steel roof option. Optional black steel roofing so rain and snow never sit on the wood.
- 04Tempered glass. Tempered glass fronts and windows, sealed for Manitoba winters.
